Internet Research 8.0 – Let’s Play takes place in Vancouver, Canada, between October 17 and October 20, 2007.
The annual conference of the Association of Internet Researchers is one of the premier opportunities for scholars and researchers of all things Internet, as well as related new media technologies and practices. It is a forum to meet, present research, network and share ideas in a cooperative, multidisciplinary environment. IR 8.0 Let’s Play will build on seven previous successful conferences and, for the second time, will be held in Canada.
October 17 (Wednesday) is the pre-conference workshop and tour day, the conference itself gets going on the 18th and runs through the 20th (Saturday). We have over 200 papers in over 80 sessions during the three days. Three keynote speakers will inspire and challenge your thinking about the internet. A welcome reception and a Friday evening banquet promise to entertain as well as inform you.
The conference organisers are:
Conference Chair – Richard Smith (Simon Fraser University)
Program Chair – Mia Consalvo (Ohio University)
They will be assisted by Charles Ess, Vice-President of AoIR, who will be the executive committee member responsible for liaison with the Executive.
All the information you need about the conference can be found at: IR 8.0 @ the AoIR Wiki, and you may register for the conference here.
