Information Regarding Member-Created Committees

During the Association General Meeting at #IR15 last week, there was considerable interest in developing ways for the AoIR community to better and more efficiently organize around pressing social, ethical, and methodological issues related to internet research (and beyond).

As was noted then, one available solution is the formation of the sort of member-driven advisory committees authorized by the Association bylaws (Article 5, §2, complete bylaws here). It is important to note, however, that since these committees are advisory to the Executive Committee, they need to also be approved by the Exec. Contact AoIR President Lori Kendall (prez [at] aoir [dot] org) for procedural information.
