Visa Requirements for #AoIR2019

Travelling to Australia is reasonably simple, but you do need to prepare your travel plans early to ensure a smooth inbound process.

The main item you will need to organise while preparing for AoIR2019 is your Australian Visa (required), which varies for each person depending on where you are coming from and your travel plans. There are three basic visas available for the majority of folk heading to AoIR2019:

  1. eVisitor (subclass 651): Free and valid for 12 months if you are from Europe, typically processed within a few days;
  2. Electronic Travel Authority Visa (subclass 601): Free ($20 AUD service charge) and available to people from a broad range of countries, typically processed within a few days;
  3. Visitor Visa (subclass 600): If you do not qualify for the other two visas, you will need to apply for a Visitor Visa and the charge is $135-340 AUD. This visa may take up to six weeks to process.
