Though the Internet has become an integral part of the daily existence of many cultures worldwide, we have only begun to understand the ways in which it transforms our interactions, our knowledge, and our selves. Research on the Internet is a growing part of academic work, and it cuts across a wide variety of disciplines. The Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR) was formed out of a recognition of the need to bring together people from diverse academic and cultural perspectives in order to advance collective understanding of the impact of this technology on contemporary life. The seed sponsors of AoiR Toronto 2003 are Seneca College, the University of Toronto's Knowledge Media Design Institute (KMDI), the Bell University Labs at University of Toronto, and the byDesign eLab.

AoiR Toronto 2003 will happen in the intimate setting of the Toronto
Downtown Hilton, located right in the heart of Canada's largest and most
vibrant city, on Richmond St. West, near City Hall, public transit, bus,
train, and road. The Hilton's facilities are ideally suited for the face to
face networking that brings international participants together once a year
to present their state of the art research on the Internet. We look forward

partir du constat suivant: la nécessité de rassembler des personnes ayant
différentes perspectives académiques et culturelles afin d'améliorer la
compréhension collective de l'impact de cette technologie sur la vie

L'hôtel Hilton situé au centre-ville de Toronto offre des tarifs
spécifiques pour les membres de l'AoIR lors du colloque. Le Hilton sera le
centre des activités du colloque et permettra aux participants et aux
participantes de "réseauter" à cette occasion. Participez aux sessions du
matin sans vous précipiter ou en devant vous passer de petit-déjeuner! Si
nous atteignons les prévisions à propos de l'occupation des chambres, les

La ville:
Le colloque de l'AoIR aura lieu au centre-ville de Toronto. L'hôtel Hilton
est situé près du quartier des cinémas et des grands magasins, ainsi que de
l'agréable voisinage de la rue Queen Ouest, qui offre un ensemble
d'excellents restaurants et de boutiques. Vous pourrez également prendre
part à des événements sportifs de renommée mondiale au Centre d'Air Canada,
visiter la boutique de l'équipe locale de hockey-sur-glace, les Maple
Leafs, ou celle de l'équipe locale de basket ball, les Raptors. Plus
